Looks like Eddie held everyone back for the QF on Tuesday, but that might backfire on him. He say's he's desperate to win a cup for Newcastle and I believe him, because whoever breaks the 53 year wait will become a god on Tyneside, but now all his eggs are in one basket and if he loses to Leicester, then that's it for another year. There are some early signs of goals drying up a bit in the league, just as other teams are starting to pull themselves back into contention, so crashing out of two cups in the space of 3 days won't help the confidence that has swept the boys along this season.

For 20 years of his career, Mike Dean was not allowed to referee Liverpool games because of a clear bias towards the team (his sons being season ticket holders, him being from the area, and has been see regularly supporting the team in the stands). Then suddenly it was decided it was ok, and a string of appallingly one sided decisions have followed. Last night, he ruled Salah onside when he was clearly miles off. But what really took the biscuit was disallowing the Wolves winner late in the match because there was apparently no camera angle that could prove it was in fact onside.

Of course, while Dean was telling us there was no angle available, everyone at home got a replay of the Wolves player at the bottom of their screen about 3 meters onside. Clear as day, absolutely no debate (supported by now multiple other angles from the crowd).

Lets call what this is..... pure and simple, its match fixing. If I were the Wolves owners, I'd take the FA to court over it, if anything just to expose the absolute disgusting bias towards some teams. This isnt honest decision makings, its predetermined.

I'm struggling to understand why the Salah goal stood. He was offside. If the lino flags straight away he's offside. I'm guessing that because the lino didn't flag immediately (which they don't seem to these days because of VAR) the defender then has to try and clear the ball, so suddenly Salah is on? That just seems like madness. Does that mean that if the defender just lets an offside Salah get the ball, then he's offside, but if he plays to the whistle and tries to clear the ball away from an offside Salah, then Salah is onside?

I'm loathe to criticise Potter, tbh. He's been drafted in to manage somebody else's players and inherited an injury list as long as his arm. He has yet to work out what his best team is, because they keep dropping like flies

I know it rarely works this way, but he ought to be given a bit of time to bring in some players of his own and then decide. With Champs Lge riches at stake that feels unlikely though, which is a pity

At the same time, I never feel sorry for managers, because they invariably leave with trouser pockets full of money, have a little rest and then start again with another club. If Chelsea were to replace him, Potter would get a job managing another team in no time at all.... an Everton vacancy might come too soon, but there'd be plenty of clubs interested in him

I really like Potter and wished he stayed at Brighton. I feel that Forest have their own version of Potter and im all for that type of manager.

For the record i was not being disrespecting to Roy either as i think he was a great pragmatic manager who had an amazing career, just did not make it big with the English top teams. Hence why i compared Potter to him.

I really hope he does not go to Everton. He needs to build a team and given time. I understand why he went the Chelsea to test himself but its not worked out. Im happy to see Chelsea fail but am sure Potter will be back.
