Chealski been given a bit of a schooling at present.

So far the last two performance in the league might suggest that it could be much tougher for them to finish top 4.

It shouldn't be a surprise I guess. It's fundamentally the same team as last season. Given how poor they were last season, it's quite amazing that Ivanovic, Matic, Cahill and Cesc were not moved on and replaced during the summer. Especially Ivanovic.

If Arsenal could just play like this every week (something I seem to say every year - rewind 12 months, and they were doing this to Man Utd around about this time of the season. And to Leicester), then they could give City a run for their money. But they don't. So I imagine that City will run away with it, with probably Liverpool (or maybe Spurs) coming in someway behind as their closest challengers (Liverpool's next step is to overhaul their whole defence).

Another half like that, and if I'm Roman abramovich I'd send Conte to the job centre

Stoke let a late goal in to deny them a needed victory....

Crystal Palace score 3 times against Sunderland in the second half to win their game....

Sunderland and Stoke look Bang in trouble

Sunderland being Sunderland. The sooner they get relegated, the better. They're wasting a place in the PL which somebody else could do something with.

Stoke is more of a surprise, but (similar to Leicester) now that they can't defend just by shirt pulling and blocking off, maybe it's not a surprise that they're conceding a few more. Butland still being injured doesn't help of course. That said, they have forward players who can click when they want to. Throw in a bit of money being spent on January, and maybe freshening things up during the season with a new manager, and I'd still expect them to overhaul a few sides above them. Hull, Burnley, Boro, WBA, maybe Swansea, all lack firepower.

Both teams coming off poor results mid week.

To be honest I was hoping for a point before the game with the way Everton have started and Boruc produced a worldy to keep the score 0-0 early in the first half. Apart from that we played really well and Everton were poor. Many suggesting this is the best we've played in the Premier League since we got promoted. Chelsea and Man U were good results last season but the performances weren't at the level we were at today. Wilshere starting to bed in and featured well in a strong midfield today, with Arter man of the match and putting in his best performance since we got promoted.

Eddie Howe certainly earned his money this week and trust Stanislas to get the winner after a lousy start to the season for him.

You also wonder why Chealski bought David Luiz back. I mean it was the deal of the century when they got rid of him, why bring him back.

Shambolic defending from Chelsea

The scoreline flatters Chealsea. Looks like last year was not just a one off.

I wonder if Roman can be asked to go through another expensive re build, or will Conte find a way to make this team competitive with the present resources. I guess not being in Europe will give them the chance to focus on the league.

Is this the end of the big 4?

Just seen Ozil's goal against Chelsea. Goal of the season if he'd had buried in the top corner. Still a superb goal mind, despite the gigantic gap in the middle.

it annoys me that we don't play a genuine striker..Zaza is a winger, he isn't a striker..how on earth can we expect to score goals, when we don't play an out an out striker..

Luis is probably the worst player I can remember that has played at more than two top teams in the world week in, week out, and has well over 100million of combined transfer fees. He has no discipline whatsoever, his positional sense and situational awareness is terrible, he inever anticipates anything.... I dont get it, I really dont.

Anyone who posts regularly on here must no my view on Luiz, so it is saying something for me when I say he is probably the least of Chelsea defensive problems.

Cahill looks no better than a top half Championship defender, and has done for 12-18 months now. In fact, since John Terry clearly eroded at the start of last year, its clear that Terry (himself way past his best) was masking just how terrible Cahill is. I dont think I have seen Cahill have a mistake free game in a long time, his mistake yesterday cost Chelsea the game really, they never recovered.

But saving the best till last.... Ivanovic. Sorry Ivan, but do the decent thing and call it a day. He is utterly finished. He has no pace, he turns as quickly as an articulated lorry, he offers no attacking threat, and got burnt on every one on one. He is clumsy in the tackle..... I still not sure how Ivanovic wasnt sent off either.
