Good player Ricardo Fuller was back in the Stoke City days, only 33 years old too.

Was bloody lazy for us, but I think being ex-Pompey the crowd jumped on his back quicker than they would anyone else.

Watched Stoke City a fair bit in 2007, don't remember Ricardo Fuller being lazy at all. If anything he was the pinnacle of their promotion to the Premier League.

Bradford register the 1st away win of the season, 1-0 against Gillingham in a game where City could've scored more.

Nicely back in the playoffs but still early days, need to build on this momentum with wins over Shrewsbury and Tranmere before facing stiffer opposition against Crawley, Preston and Wolves in October.

Despite winning League 2 last year I had a feeling that we'd struggle in League 1 -the above result after 8 winless games rather indicates that.

Nice 95th minute winner from Big Jim Hanson to give Bradford a fully deserved victory against a Shrewsbury side, trying to protect their 1-0 lead from the 1st minute with time wasting tactics.

Gills win 3-0 at Crewe for their first win since promotion. Hopefully they can now push on with the same cohesion as last year.

This one has obviously been in the pipeline for a while, I bet losing away to their biggest rivals was perfect for the directors.

Would you consider just survival a good season ?? Martin Allen strikes me as very driven, can't imagine he would settle for finishing 20th if offered now.

The managerial merry go round starting to get a move on with Derby getting rid of Nigel Clough and replacing him with Steve McClaren.

Feel sorry for Nigel as he was at Derby on a rebuilding exercise and didn't have a transfer budget compared to most Championship club, so he's done to prevent a club from further decline say like Coventry. Also a top bloke who would have time to speak to spectators whenever at reserve matches, either scouting or monitoring his own players.

No I wouldn't SP - I think you're right about Allen too. He,s tasted a bit of succes and I suspect he doesn't want to go back to sorting clubs out of trouble.

A bit surprised to discover Martin Allen is no longer Gillingham manager, especially when they won them the League Two title last season.
