Newcastle could end up dropping down to 12th later, depending on how badly Liverpool beat them up

Newcastle just need to put crosses into the Liverpool Defence. Certain goal.

I think everyteam other than Crystal Palace will fancy scoring against Liverpool.

I didn't see any points coming from today's game, so a point is definitely a bonus.

funnily enough, Newcastle seem to do better when they sit back, concede a lot of possession and hit on the counter. In most of their successful matches this season they seem to have about 1/3 possession, not that many shots, but get most on target and do score. When they do get more possession they have a lot of shots, but get very few on target, and don't score.

I had a feeling Shelvey would start today. Rafa has been punishing him for being stupid on the opening day, by leaving him out of the starting XI, and was probably firing him up for this game

A little while ago, yuppie was asking how Jamaal Lascelles was doing at Newcastle. Pleased to report that apart from becoming pretty much the beating heart of the club, he has signed a contract extension to 2023.

He seems to have fitted in well up in Newcastle. Certainly seems a good leader, and scored a few important goals as well.

Apparently Shelvey has fractured a bone in his hand trying to break up a training ground fight between 2 team mates (team mates :angry )

FFS.... you couldn't make it up

Not sure whether a busted hand will prevent him from playing at St Mary's next weekend. Perhaps it won't

Im sure Shearer put a few people right when he was captain, though im not sure it ended up with anyone else getting injured.

I can remember Andy Carroll and Steve Taylor having a spat a few years ago when they were at Newcastle.

Carroll signed for Liverpool not long afterwards.

not as good a spat as Dyer/Bowyer
