Barcelona, played 6, won 5, drawn one. Goals for 17, goals against 0

A record LVG would die for.

Andre Gomes is proving to be quite a revelation for Valencia in all accounts. Seems strange that Benfica never played him despite him being very highly rated, and he came with a 15mill price tag!!

just saw Ronaldo scored another hattrick for real tonight

that's his 22nd in 170odd games , so roughly 1 every 6 matches

also he has now scored 13 goals in 6 league matches this season , its crazy stuff

It's amazing how many goals both he and Messi have scored over the past 4-5 seasons. I'm guessing there's about 350 between them.

3rd hat-trick in four games I think for Ronaldo.

Absolute joy to watch.

Yep, since 2009 they have exactly the same goals to games ratio (1.11). Messi has 195 in 175, Ronaldo 190 in 171.

Can't believe Barcelona are yet to concede a goal in La Liga this season, ridiculous.

Also Messi is two goals away from being La Liga's all time record goal scorer.

Valencia lose 3-0 to bottom placed Deportivo so Real Madrid are into 2nd.

obviously impossible really to compare eras but considering how impressive messi's goals to games ratio is its funny to see the record he is looking to break for goals in the Spanish top flight was actually set in fewer appearances than he will take

Real Madrid beat Barca 3-1, the gap at the top is now one point. Barca's defence was awful, Real could easily have got 5+.

comfortable win for real but what pique was thinking about giving away that penalty when they were still 1-0 up I don't know

Great match, but pretty poor sportsmanship by Barca walking off without shaking hands. Of course I expect little more from them. :no
