Newcastle were as bad as Sunderland were when we beat the latter earlier in the season. People will say that its a good sign playing badly and winning, but if a side like Bournemouth can create so many chances then what are better teams going to do against them.

That was a 100 times better than your second half against us though. You managed to turn your domination of possession into chances. I've always felt that not creating chances is a bigger issue than not scoring the chances created.

Play like you did today over the next two months, and then try and bring in a striker to finish those chances off in January. (This issue I guess though, as well as money, is how far away from 17th might you be come January. The further away you are, the smaller the pool of strikers interested in joining you will be. Will Charlie Austin for example be happy to take a massive risk of being right back in the Championship again six months later?)

Good to see/hear that Howe dropped Murray. I never understood why you signed him, because he just does not appear to fit your system at all (nor do I think he's actually good enough to play in the PL). Yes King looks fairly average at this level, but at least his style of play seems similar to that of Wilson, which in turn can only help the rest of your team.

January is such a rotten window to sign in, few players available and at over inflated prices. Plus as you say if we are adrift of safety, who of any note will want to sign?

I think Murray was signed as an alternative to Kermorgant with premier league experience. Howe was probably hoping that he may in time have formed a good partnership with Wilson but we won't know now, and as a result he is looking a dubious signing.

Glad your boys nicked the win at Sunderland but sadly Norwich won as well. Today was a massive defeat and will take some getting over. Onwards and upwards!
