Scotland for England on Tuesday. Bound to be a few changes. As with most people, I'd like to see Hart rested, and see Theo given a run out.

Hart has gone back to Man City, its between Foster and Forster.

That's good. Might get a half each?

Doubt it, cant see him wasting a sub on a GK...SHOULD be Forster that plays

Isn't there unlimited subs? If not then yes, doubtful he'll swap.

Nah, got limited to 6...Belgium accidentally made 7 in a friendly a few days before the WC Lukaku scored a hat-trick and the game got expunged from records.

It used to be huge. End of season in the Home International competition. Full strength teams too, no-one was rested because they'd just played in the cup final. Now it's just another match.

A massive game for Scotland :fight

Absolutely huge for Scotland fans, the English are not really interested. After failing to get independence that McCain will be nicely swelling on the Scottish shoulders. I'd wager if the game was at Wembley there'd be a couple of broken crossbars before the night was out.

not sure tbh

I have very little interest in the game either , you do realise that a lot of scots are very happy that the independence vote was lost and don't have chips on our shoulders don't you ?

Often talked about but nothing is ever done. I would like to see it return every two years ie when there isn't a WC or Euro tournament.

I was referring to the pro independence anti English chip wearing brigade. My grandfather was Scottish, I used to go up to a place near Oban on holiday at least twice a year for most of my formative years and beyond. I love the place and feel like its my spiritual home. I just don't like some of the fanatical English hatred which is inherent in some of the inhabitants.

I read somewhere that more people watched Pointless on BBC1, than watched England-v-Slovakia on ITV. Not sure that would have happened before football saturation gave people loads more teams to support.

theres a feature on the bbc website with memories of previous Scotland-England games , the one thing I always remember was nothing to do with the football

in the aftermath of the 1977 pitch invasion the FA tried to put in place new restrictions on ticket sales to prevent scots fans from attending the next Wembley game , the FA secretary at the time was a guy called ted croker and he was quite vocal about stopping scots fans from getting tickets. when the game came around there was as many scots fans at Wembley as ever and there was one banner with ;

"so you thought you could ban us mr croker"

The Euro 96 game stands out for me. A hot Saturday afternoon in the pub, watching us scrape a win.

The broken crossbar and the Gazza goal celebration is all I can remember from these fixtures down the years.

Great idea to hold such a game on a midweek evening, an excuse for the rebels to get tanked up and cause a lot of bother.

I remember the 1975 game. I'd been out shopping with my mum and missed the first 10 minutes of the game. My dad was watching and told me we were 2-0 up already. We went on to win 5-1.

Why are they playing at Celtic Park instead of Hampden Park?

It may have something to do with converting Hampden Park to an Athletics stadium for the Commonwealth Games and maybe it has yet to be converted back to a football stadium. I would guess that there are certain health and safety issues which prevent it from being used for football matches until it is converted back properly.
