Sky not just showing it on one channel but TWO at the same time (SS1 & SS5).

What's the point of that?

it means they can sell advertising slots on two channels instead of one. If a company wants to ensure that its advert gets seen, it has to pay double the cost.

Frankly I'm amazed that Sky and ITV haven't told the FA that they want football played over 4 quarters rather than 2 halves.

I'm even more amazed that FIFA didn't think of it first.... imagine the careful balance between maximising revenues for football, improving sponsor brand identity, whilst protecting the integrity of the game, and amount trousered in brown paper envelopes involved for the person who could pull that off
