How good is he?

He has just equalled Barcelona's all time goal-scoring record of 232!

He's only 24...what a player!

Has he scored tonght as well?

It's just not the amount of goals, it's the quality of them as well.

Yes, only 24 and with his best years ahead of him, maybe. Certainly an all time great alongside Maradona and Pele.

Hard to disagree.

I use to love watching Zidane. As elegant as they come and was a big game player.

Yep it hurts watching him and Barcelona because every time I watch United I am reminded just how far our best players are behind the likes of Messi.

I'm always thinking when Rooney has an opportunity gone begging "now what would have Messi done with that"? The answer is usually score.

I never saw Pele live, but unless some terrible injury happens to Messi he will go down as the greatest.

I think you can only say Messi will rank alongside Maradona when Messi puts on 90 pounds of unsightly fat, sticks the ball in the net with his hands, and snorts quality South American white marching powder up his nostrils on a regular basis.

people have scored loads of goals at club level before, the greatest players of all time i.e pele, maradona, zidane etc, have performed on the biggest stages for their country whereas messi hasnt (yet). when hes guided argentine to a world cup or two then we can talk about him being the best of all time. goals against second rate spanish sides arent rembered, goals that make major contributions to world cup victories are

Another hat-trick for Messi which means he has scored 68 goals this season. He now officially holds the record for the most goals scored in a single season.
