I am probably the only one who prefers Klose to Messi. Boy! that guy has been so damn consistent for his country in almost each and every major.

Agreed, Messi cannot be considered a true legend until he scores an unbeaten century in test cricket :lmao

Messi scored his 21st hat-trick for Barcelona as they beat Deportivo 5-4. Messi has scored 44 goals in La Liga in 2012, he's broken Ronaldo's record of 43 goals in a calendar year.

86 goals in a year for Lionel Messi, a world record. Stunning.

This record is amazing and he truly is a great in world football, however he has yet to consistently perform at international level. Whatever the reason he has struggled to pull his Barca form off in an Argentina shirt and that is one of the few negatives that you can put at Messi.

Messi has plenty of time to put that right, Koyomi. Maradona was 26 when he ran the world cup in Mexico. Up until then, he had a difficult world cup in Spain and like Messi, not consistently played well for Argentina, although Messi has scored approx 12 goals in his last 10 games for his country.

As for his record. Let's not forget that he has scored some great goals in those 86, unlike Gerd, who was a great goal poacher.

being fair to him the team he has around him at Barca gives him plentiful chances and with his skill goals are always likely to come his way. It seems the team is built around him at Barca but at Argentina the team isn't based around him and doesn't suit him as much. An amazing talent in football and one of a kind, he deserves his record.

International football is a different mentality to domestic league football, avoiding defeat rather than going for the win and flair players get found out.

Yes well done :clap :clap

The world team made up only of players who play in Spain. With that many goals scored by Ronaldo, Messi and Falco in Spain im not sure how any defenders in Spain should make the world team :box
