Capital One Cup 2013/14

The beautiful game!

Bit of a horror challenge by Brighton's Inigo Calderon on Newport's Byron Anthony, if this was in the Premier League Calderon would be subject to witch-hunt. That Haidara doesn't know what a career ending tackle is the wuss.

Away to Barnsley, tough fixture, just hope we take the cup seriously this season.

So they should. It's been proved that it's a cup that a team from outside the top six can win.

The reality is, the club genuinely believes we can finish in the top 6 and league will be priority.

DeRidder has left, Chaplow has left,Richardson has left, as have 4 or 5 others, Hammond and Sharp are more than likely going to leave before the window closes.

We will either HAVE to play a full team or pick the U18s.

The "Gillette Soccer Special" panel were accusing Southampton of being disrespectful to Barnsley before kick off last night for making 9 changes, heres the team :

Davis - On the bench or in the XI for every Prem game last year
Fox - Scotland International, regular last season
Yoshida - Japan International, played nearly every game last season
Fonte - Played both prem games this season and most last year
Clyne - 1st choice right back
Isgrove - talented youngster
Cork - played every Prem game when fit last year
Davis - N.Ireland captain, in squad/team every game last year
Mayuka - Zambian International
Rodriguez - former record signing at 7mil, played all last season and started both Prem games this year
Ramirez - Uruguayan international, former record signing at 12mil

I'd hardly call that disrespectful.

United still in this, though the way there playing, sunderland will fancy their chances at OT.

Can United get any lower? Will we see Moyes gone by this week?

Moyes blaming the ref and im guessing with his choice of words he might have a fine as well as a misconduct charge.

Nah would be silly to sack him.

The problem is it is still Fergie's team. It's a bit like your dad suddenly being replaced by a stepdad. Moyes needs time to build his won team and there are a few that will probably be out the door this summer. Evra, Ferdinand & Anderson are three that will probably be looking over their shoulders.

Moyes deserves another year at least, to build his own team, and I think he'll get it, but the man does not inspire. He was negative at Everton, and is now. This job is too big.

Not going to get enough money to build his own side in 2-3 years.

The problem is that in a World Cup year the prices go higher, and the added tv money meant that a lot of teams spent money this summer and sucked a lot of the class from teams Man United could target.

I think also that the rebuild job is huge, £100 mill wont touch the sides imo.... Man United arguably dont have a midfielder who would get into the current top 4's side.
