Due to the geographical allocation of teams for the World Cup pots, there are likely to be some strange groups drawn.

Best case scenario for England:
Switzerland
Australia
Cameroon

Worst case scenario for England:
Spain
USA
Chile

Group of death:
Spain
USA
Chile
Holland

Group of life:
Switzerland
Australia
Cameroon
Russia

Group of war ;)
Argentina
Iran
Algeria
England

Starts at lunchtime, progresses through afternoon tea then dinner, before concluding just after a late supper :)

I think it's about 5pm our time.

We've got Italy, Uruguay & Costa Rica.

Not good, and we play the Italians at 2am UK time.

England's World Cup not much tougher than the 2002 one with Sweden, Argentina and Nigeria.

England will qualify for the knockout stages, make no mistake about it.

Groups B, D and G look to be the trickiest.

Australia to be the first team to be knocked out?

Possible QFs:

Brazil v Colombia
Ecuador v Germany

Spain v Uruguay/Italy/England
Argentina v Belgium/Ghana/USA/Portugal

Can't say I'm that enthusiastic, but at least we're there!

At least I won't have to pretend to be interested for too long.

while I'm in glassishalfempty mode............

10 day world cup for England. I won't be surprised if we finish bottom of the group. I'm not sure we'll even beat costa rica in the heat.

I've been hearing stuff about humidity in the north of Brazil.......... are we playing in the north?

except that we can only beat them with pace. Italy can afford to rely on their better technique to beat us without breaking sweat.

Just seen Japan's group. Greece, Ivory Coast and Colombia will be hard to get any result out of. A win v Greece might give them a chance but that aside :bye
