Sterling has gone down in my estimation.

Players today in the PL have more money than they know what to do with. And they still want more.


Negotiate for a better contract, ok but don't spit your dummy out to the media.

It seems that Sterling's agent is playing real hard ball, saying that Sterling would not play for Liverpool again even if offered 900,000 a week

Would like to see Liverpool just put him in the reserves for the next 2 years, but i can't see that happening.

Reminds me of the time Ashley Cole nearly crashed his car when he heard he'd only get a rise to £60k a week or whatever it was.

The argument is that the agent is doing the right thing for Sterling, but i just can't see that. I would be surprised if Sterling ever plays for Liverpool again. But with this agent being so out spoken, won't that potentially just scare of other teams? Who wants his baggage to deal with. Im sure City will have learnt their lesson with troubled players and agents, United would just say no, Chealski not a chance. Which leaves Arsenal, but i just can't see why Arsenal need him, specially if Walcott is now injury free.

So who else is there for Sterling?

Sterling won't be the only player wanting to leave an underperforming Liverpudlian club in order to play Champions League football more regularly. Rooney left Everton for Man United when he was roughly the same age....

For me the difference is that United came in for Rooney, whilst Sterling seems to be the one trying to leave Liverpool. So far no clubs have bid for Stirling, all the unrest is coming from the player and his agent, whilst under contract.

Liverpool could just let sterling see out his contract and then if he decides to move to another club in the UK then they will still get compensation as well as 2 more years from the player who is only costing them 30,000 a week. It would be in Sterling's interest to keep performing otherwise his next contract wont be so big. So Liverpool still have some options though not great. Henry has shown he won't be bullied, as evidenced by Saurez.

Of course there's no issue here. There wasn't this anti-Lallana feeling going around last season when he said he wanted to leave us for a bigger club, to increase his chances of winning trophies. Nor Shaw. Nor Lovren.

The only difference is that this is a Liverpool player.

There is nothing wrong with Sterling wanting to leave for better things. Liverpool should move on and accept that, football fans should move on and accept that.
