I think FIFA have found the perfect punishment, I congratulate their sense of decency and sense.

I think its too lenient, but im not going to overly criticise, its a tough situation to be put in.

Maybe it is too lenient, but then again, did any of us have confidence that they would do anything? And realistically, what is the benchmark?

If you bit someone in a club, would you lose your job for a year? No you wouldn't, if your not drawing blood then arguably you wouldn't lose much other than the court fee.

So yeah, I would have loved to see a 6 month global man, or 12 months, or life time, because he is a horrible idiot... but in the sense of reality, I think that's a lot of games he is missing.

9 World Cup games and 9 Premier League games, plus possible friendlies and cup matches....

How many months would he miss if he failed a drug test ?? 6 ? 9 ? I'd say biting 3 players is worse than a 1st drug offence.

Would love to be a fly on the wall in the office of the Uruguayan President right now. Probably planning on taking the Falklands.

Hard to really compare. I don't disagree SP, I just don't know what benchmark is fair.

He'd miss the rest of the WC anyway if the ref had seen it and sent him off..so theres not a massive punishment there, he shouldn't be playing again in 2014.

Of the games he misses, doesn't include Arsenal,Chelsea or Man United either ( not that it should be taken into account )

Yeah, I don't think he, or Lugano for that matter after his comments, will want to step foot in England again.

FIFA just confirmed they are allowed to but don't see why Barca would have him now.

I personally think he did it on purpose to manufacture a transfer, like Osvaldo did by attacking Fonte.

Why would Barca buy him though when he's banned until November?

Or Madrid. On one hand you have a great player, on the other a man who is likely to get banned every season. I wonder what his fee would be now?

Because Liverpool were rumored to want between 70 and 100mil, they can probably get him for 50 now.

Madrid aren't interested any more apparently. After Falcao instead.

I was certainly not confident he would get any ban just because of the comments by some Uruguayans that were so high up in office, the President being one. It's a sad reflection on the cheating in sport. The denial of the team as a whole including Diego Forlan still has me gob smacked.
