A Derby fan I work with said this morning, that he may prefer Chelsea, City, Liverpool, rather than a small(ish) team. I don't get that. Derby are near the top of the championship, so surely a home tie against sheffield utd would be better. beat them then you're in the semi's, with a final two steps away.

No need to diss the Cherries, mind you it is typical of a Southampton supporter.

That wasn't a diss of Bournemouth AT ALL, they are a very strong side, on a very good run...but so are we, and you'd be an easier challenge than 1 of the big 4.

Its going to be one of those draws where I don't really mind who we get, home or away. Probably the worst possibility is Derby away as its an unattractive tie and we'll probably lose. Home or away to Southampton would be good, we'd probably go out but it would be a good game either way and would stimulate alot of interest in the media and the population down on the South Coast. Home or away to Liverpool or Chelsea would be good too. Sheff Utd would offer our best chance of a semi final spot.

Though away still not a bad draw.

Might even start thinking this could be the year for a trophy.............

Never know might get Bournemouth at home in the next round :rasta

If youre referring to not getting a home draw then yes but away to Sheff U is a pretty favourable draw in terms of making progression in the tournament.

A few Southampton supporters I work with are hoping that the run Bournemouth are on comes to an end sooner rather than later. I think they are a tadge concerned that we are stealing a bit of their limelight down here on the south coast. They will never acknowledge any small achievements of their home town club and only revel in the misfortunes and indeed were very vocal a few years back when we were having a rough time of it. I think it is some way of justifying to themselves that it is ok to support a bigger club thirty miles down the road and not the one in which they live.

Its the opposite at St.Marys, BMB, 95% of Saints fans don't care about Bournemouth, and the 5% that do want them to win and keep an eye out at full-time.

It wasn't until we played you in the league a few years ago that we realised you guys hated us, because none of us cared about you.

Bournemouth winning 8-0 got a good reception on Saturday, quite alot were talking about it as we were leaving, Portsmouth are hated, we only care what you do when we play you.

I think the people you work with are trying to wind you up.
