Football league 2014/15

The beautiful game!

Football league 2014/15

Postby Gingerfinch » Wed Aug 06, 2014 10:56 am

After a short time with no Football, the championship and leagues one and two start this weekend.

As normal with these leagues, trying to pick out a winner is difficult, but I'll have a go.

Championship - Fulham
League One - Sheffield Utd
League two - Luton

As for the relegation battles, we'll wait and see.

Fixtures are below.

I have an accumulator which includes Fulham and Sheffield United to go up.

Worrying only 1 the Fulham side that played the 1st game of last season is still at the club, and thats the GK, Stekelenburg.

Bookies don't appear to have too much of an idea this season.

Every year for the past four or five years (including this week just gone), I put on 40 x £2 accumulators on who I think will win the top five divisions in England. Usually I get odds ranging from about 5,000/1 - 30,000/1. This year they have ranged from 15,000/1 - 125,000/1.

Season handicaps have potential to be a right money earner, especially in lower league football when it's closely competed.

Bit of turnaround going on at Huddersfield from the drubbing we had last season. One or two people I know had put money on Callum Wilson being top goalscorer in the Championship this season. We shall see.

Good win for Wycombe. Still think we'll struggle but hey gotta be happy with three points.

Funnily enough he scored a hat trick in a pre season friendly against Oxford United and one of those was a penalty.

Might be a blessing, him missing this time, else he would be getting a bit cocky with two hat tricks in his first few games for us.
