Swedish tv is not showing a replay. They seem confused.

Was the player onside when the ball was played?

The ball came off a Liverpool player.

Ah i see, still not seen a reply. Bloody Swedish tv. I presume the player was not interfering with play?

Sevilla didn't win a single away game in La Liga all season.

Coke, as in that he was not in the defenders eye line which made him play the ball.

I'll to have a look at the replay again. From what I remember, a Sevilla player passed the ball backwards, it then hit a Liverpool player, then went forward to Coke.

That is some record of Klopp's, five successive losing finals.

Sevilla's third wasnt offside. As stated, the ball bounces forward off the Liverpool defender, so it couldnt have been. That said, it seems apparent that the linesman flagged for offside, the referee can clearly be seen after the goal goes in to signal very animatedly to the linesman to put the flag down.

Im not sure I like that one bit. Many people say play to the whistle, which is correct in this instance, but a referee should never in my opinion ignore the linesman decision on an offside. I think its misleading for the defending team to see the flag while the ref (usually with a worse view) decides otherwise.

The ref got it right in this instance, but is it fair?

I don't have a BT Sport subscription but noticed this was freeview on their SD channel so I suspect the CL will be the same.

Sevilla seem to like this competition.

The proverbial game of two halves.

I switched off at half time and followed the second half on line!

The right decision was made so that is probably the lesser of two evils. If the ref took the linesman's decision then Seville would have been aggrieved that a perfectly legitimate goal was dissalowed.

Play to the whistle, even so, he still would have scored.

Not much mention of the trouble from certain Liverpool fans. Is it illegal to criticise Liverpool fans?

That is the general consensus.

It was the Sevilla players who were at their fans getting them to calm down. The pictures show Sevilla fans with ultra tops and scarfs covering their faces on the attack, and this is how I have seen it reported here, that a grup of Sevilla ultras moved into a neutral fan zone and started attacking. Not sure anyone is suggesting Liverpool were doing much but defend themselves.
