FIFA World Cup in Qatar

The beautiful game!

something has to be done about FIFA

I don't know what

but something

I'd support the FA telling FIFA to *modded* off and begin organising their own tournaments. If enough sponsorship money could be brought in, other associations would surely follow. Might take a while, but hey.... sometimes principles are more important than money :o

more important than money? I have gone mad, haven't I?

If a massive asteroid was about to obliterate the earth, the FA would try to sell tickets to watch it, Sky would buy the TV rights, and both would insist that the asteroid hit the earth at Wembley stadium (it still needs to be paid for)

The guy who produced the summary report of the FIFA corruption inquiry has come out and expressed surprise that the man who lead the inquiry has criticised his report for being factually and conclusionally wrong in many places. He claims he has produced it pretty much word for word but says that publication of the full inquiry is not possible due to confidentiality issues. What are those confidentiality issues, the bits criticising FIFA no doubt. Therefore the world will only see the bits that he wants it to see. What a complete farce.

Nothing to stop a rebel international championship being created, founded by the FAs of Europe who invite other nations to take part.

If they wanted, they could have an international kick around behind my bins. I'll get Toddy on the case... feasibility studies are more his thing than mine.

Kerry Packer managed to do something with cricket. It's like the wall coming down, or the breakdown of anything that seems too big and impossible to do. Once it falls everyone looks around and says "wow, why did that take so long". Just do it.

It's FIFA Steve, FIFA. One of the F's stands for football, which F I don't know, but I do know you don't need to be a rocket science to be involved with that particular sport.

Fifa has lodged a criminal complaint over world cup hosting for the 2018 and 2022 world cups.

More news to follow, whats the betting they are going to charge England FA and Australia FA with something here?

If they do then we should fight it in a criminal court. Then that dossier will have to be revealed in full.

FIFA are probably bluffing to shift the blame.

I think England want out of FIFA but it's no good unless they have backing from plenty of other nations.

There are 2 ways FIFA will do this, either put up a sacrifical lamb from one of the winning bids, or go on to blame the English FA and other countries FA's who have questioned this. Remember the FBI are also looking into FIFA.

If they are just using Judge Eckerts white wash review then they will be gunning for the English FA. In that he clears Qatar and Russia.

But they might be looking to appease Garcia with out actually having to post his report. Will be an interesting 24 hours coming up.

Surely someone can hack Fifa to get Garcias report out

Very strong allegations that can't be dismissed so easily, it's an issue that won't quite go away.

Makes a mockery of FIFAs rule of not mixing sport with politics, that is for sure.
