I just hope other countries are doing the same pot-stirring, otherwise FIFA could end up kicking us out and we'd be left in the cold.

With more nations behind us we'd have a bit of clout.

Looks like the Qatar WC is going to be played in November/December 2022.

That will please UEFA and its member countries.

UEFA should just boycott it, FIFA would crumble into dust, and we could start football again without the corruption.....

Either way, should a decision of this magnitude be made while a FIFA election is going on?

This is what I have always felt they should do but I don't think they have the guts. Besides I have my doubts about Platini. He's probably well in with Blatter.

I think UEFA have said they support a winter tournament , its the clubs via the G14 group and the individual leagues that will kick off about it

UEFA won't be bothered they don't have any games from Dec to Feb. Its all too bloody confusing, what about the winter breaks for some leagues and the Afrcan Nations Cup, not to mention the Winter Olympics.

This tournament has been a farce from the get go and there are still seven years to go before it kicks off.

Any tournament that starts with.... "we will build 10 air conditioned pitches".... should not be trusted.

When the original bids were done the criteria was for a World Cup being held in July/August. Qatar put in their proposals for air conditioned stadiums to counterract the severe summer temperatures, the Bid was ultimately accepted and Qatar were awarded the World Cup to be staged in July/August. If they are now saying that it would still be too hot even with these A/C stadiums surely their bid falls over and you have to start the whole process again on the grounds of fairness to the other bidders.

Not sure who the other bidders were and if politics meant that certain countries agreed not to bid in order to get a better chance at a later World Cup. Perhaps they were the sole bid?

UEFA have now confirmed they support the movement of the tournament.

The conversation probably went something like this -

UEFA: "No way will we support this"

Qatar: "Have a billion dollars"

UEFA: "We fully support this".
