Ranieri is Leicester's new manager. You would like to think he'd do quite well.

Sterlings getting £200,000 a week

Being paid on potential as opposed to results. Well i guess City can afford that.

It is the first time in years that Arsenal aren't top of the league before the season starts.

Tickets go on sale for Bournemouth v Villa (first game of the season) on Thursday, but they've brought in a points system to ensure that the supporters who went to games last season get priority. I went to 8 games although I bought around 30 tickets over the season and therefore I get 8 points towards games this season. Each game will be given a points score in order to purchase tickets depending on likely demand, so the top teams will require a higher points cost in order to get tickets. Although Villa aren't a big team, because its Bournemouth's first ever game in the top flight they've put an initial price of 6 points for getting tickets. That would mean I use up 75% of my allocation for this one game alone which would then put me at a disadvantage for getting future tickets. You do earn an extra point for each ticket you get this season but it isn't added until after the game has been played. They've also stated that if all tickets aren't sold they will review the situation next Wednesday and may reduce the points qualification but no doubt there will only be odd seats left in remote areas of the ground. The problem is no other information has been released, i.e. no pointers towards the points requirements for future games. I've pencilled in Sunderland on 19th Sept, and I can't imagine the points requirement for that game will be as high, but if I buy tickets for Villa I might not have enough left for that game when the tickets first go on sale.

My current feeling is to miss out on the first draft for the Villa game and wait to see if they do a second draft next week, and if not just wait for the Sunderland tickets and hope I'm left with points to be in with a chance for future games. Not minded to blow 6 points on a system I know little about, and end up with no chance of seeing any other games for the remainder of the season.

Should have gone to more matches last season!!

That's quite a good system to stop opposition fans getting into the home end though. Although I bet some Bournemouth fans will sell their tickets on!

Turns out I've totally misunderstood the concept and my 8 points are set in stone, and the fact that the Villa game requiring 6 points means I can get tickets and then my accumulated points go up to 9.

I would certainly be happy to see that. Settled team, better keeper. A fully fit Walcott would help.

arsenal still need a strong central midfielder imo and not sure Giroud or Walcott are really good enough up front

basically same problem they have had for 4 or 5 years now and almost everyone except Wenger seems to be aware of it
