I bet Newcastle fans are pretty underwhelmed by his appointment, failed to get one of the favourites in the Championship promotion over two seasons. Apart from possibly Middlesborough and FC Twente, his previous management efforts at England, Wolfsburg, Forest and Derby have all been pretty awful. And to go from first place to eighth over the last quarter of last season with Derby before getting the boot isn't the best way to take over a supposedly big Premier League club. Didn't he also turn Newcastle down at one point last season to stay at Derby only to then totally bollox up a nailed on play off spot.

I thought the time had come to start a new thread for a new season....

The haggling for Sterling to go to Man City has started:

It's just a matter of time before they settle at a price somewhere in the middle.

Fixtures out.

Apart from away to Liverpool in our second game, a fairly decent run of 7 or 8 fixtures to start the season. Would hope to be in double figures by the time we go to Man City in October.

Now to try and get tickets for our first game at home to Aston Villa on the 8th of August.

Not a bad start, budget. A tough end though.

Man U away in our last game, hopefully we'll be safe by then..................more likely safely relegated!

It'll be an exciting season. You going to any games?

I'm going to try and get tickets for Villa, but the big problem I have is that I can't go to Sunday games due to the wife working, and you know what Sky is like with scheduling. Barely have more than 3 or 4 games at 3 o'clock on a Saturday these days, which is pretty much the only sensible time I can go.
