Phil Parkinson has completed his move to Bolton Wanderers on a two year deal - along with assistant manager Steve Parkin, goalkeeper coach Lee Butler, fitness coach Nick Allamby and Chief Scout Tim Breacker.
http://www.bradfordcityfc.co.uk/news/ar ... 40015.aspxCan't say i'm amused with Bolton Wanderers going public before contracts were formally signed. It's just a huge blow to lose a manager who has been a positive influence at the club and created a feelgood factor in his presence, even if sometimes the football was attritional to watch. Five years ago non league football was not out of the question, now Bradford are back to the natural level but with a fanbase not seen since the Premier League years (even if it's supplemented by £149 season tickets and two cup runs).
Even though Bolton Wanderers have their financial difficulties, it is an attractive managerial position mostly with a bigger infrastucture in place (top class stadium, training facilities and youth setup). In comparison Bradford's training ground got flooded last season and the Valley Parade pitch got churned up the season before, which probably was the difference between Championship and League One Football.
A premature end to a wonderful era, but Phil Parkinson (along with previous owners Julian Rhodes and Mark Lawn) have left Bradford City in good health and that is something many a supporter will be grateful for.
