And despite all the media coverage about Russians and English, it seems last night a large group of Nice Ultras attacked a friendly gathering of Northern Irish and Polish fans who fought back together. One is reported dead after falling from the promenade and onto the beach, but I believe its unrelated.

Im just wondering when UEFA are going to threaten to kick out France. It seems there is a constant here, and that is French local groups starting trouble.

Doesn't Marseille consider itself not part of France, so i guess the locals would do anything to discredit the tournament.

I'm not sure it goes that far, but it is a city well noted for social problems and gang related trouble.

Just after I typed that I can now see that Germany v Ukraine also ended with fighting in the street, apparently Neo-Nazi slogans and chanting by the German fans, chairs and tables thrown at each other, punches exchanged. So are Ukraine and Germany going to be threatened with expulsion or is this a crusade against England only?

Yes, we will get the blame, if only for the fact we supposedly invented hooliganism.

Wondering if this spate of violence we are seeing at the Euros is a reflection of recent political change with a lot of right wings groups finding prominence again.

It has come out from the French prosecutor in Marseille that it is now believed that the rioting was caused largely by a group of trained Russian hooligans, who went to Marseille with the intention of only causing trouble. It seems to indicate that this group were behind most of the problems

Like how they keep the security up between the Russian supporters and the English supporters during the game? How they reacted to the Russian charging of the England fans?

I feel sorry for them, but they are accountable for what happened in the stadium last night.

The astute police tactic of charging in with tear gas and water canon as a first resort is helping the instigators to melt away in all the confusion. 150 trained Russians hell bent on violence and they haven't managed to arrest any of them yet....... despite a sizable chunk of them being 'in uniform'

It seems like a number of senior Russian officials are supporting the violence as it shows their compatriots to be real men, and it is as important to beat England off the pitch as it is on.

It seems that the Russian hooligan is a new breed, sober and a trained boxer/martial arts well able to overcome your typical drunk lumbering English oaf.

Russian hooligans claim they have learnt alot from the English in the seventies and eighties, and they are now number one in the world hooligan charts whereas the English have sunk to mid table.

More trouble to come it would seem with both sets of fans going to Lille.

As Sussex says the French police are culpable in all this, charging into people indiscriminately hurling tear gas all over the place, without any strategy or concern for who was affected.

It is said that they had totally lost control of Marseille for at least 24 hours, and were unable to cope with most of the situations they were faced with.

I guess there are currently two tournaments going on in France right now, Euro 2016 and Eurohool 2016. England are doing equally badly in both right now.

There are also suggestions Russian hooligans will disrupt our game against Wales as well according to SSN this morning.

No doubt they'll be wearing England shirts to make it look like us.

On the other hand if we look like struggling to qualify, English fans can dress up in Russian shirts and go and cause mayhem!

This unwanted part of the game is proving to be more interesting than alot of the football.

I guess we would lose the point we had gained from the draw if Russia are disqualified as all their results would be null and void.

No, because you then couldnt have a team they didnt play not score that point or gain three without a match.

All teams get 0 or all teams get 3.
