Does this mean we've reached the next round now?

Pretty much, 4 points would be enough for third place qualifying and we can't finish lower than third.

Amazing how we can go from crap to tournament winners in the space of a minute.

We were average today and need to improve, but wondering if there were some pitch issues making ball control difficult.

One thing is for certain, Sterling cannot start the next game.

A lot of players were struggling to keep there feet.

The more you look at Sturridges goal, it really is a great finish.

Hope Roy starts with Vardy & Sturridge for Slovakia.

Also fair play to Roy for making the changes at HT and not giving it another 15 minutes just to see if anything happened.

Indeed, credit where its due. He also went all out when Rashford came on. So all 4 strikers have played so far.

Rashford looks way ahead of his 18 years. I hope he gets more opportunities in this tournament.

He did, could he take that Sterling role?

More likely Harry Kane.

Think both Kane and Sterling may start on the bench on Monday.

On the one hand I do agree that Roy deserves credit for making the double change at HT. Many managers would have waited, potentially fatally.

But on the other hand, Sterling as been poor for months and was easily our worst player against Russia. He's lucky to be in the squad, and should never have started today. Roy got it badly wrong, and the substation was just a rectification of that. Thankfully I don't think he will start another game in the competition now.

I haven't seen the game, and haven't gotten around to watching the highlights yet, but there was lots of talk, earlier in the week, of Roy's backroom team telling him that Kane had to be replaced for this game. Perhaps he struck a deal where Kane got another half and if it didn't work out he'd be replaced at half time? So preordained rather than divine inspiration?

out of curiosity, did England switch to 4-4-2 after half time?
