shame it's an away fixture. 49,000 attended the PNE game

Yes, I think it would have been a full house. It's incredible the change in feelings from a few months ago is all down to one man.

and playing football at a lower level, of course.

the Hull match will be a gentle test of that.... a nice inoffensive measure of how much progress Newcastle have made, before having to face getting battered by top PL sides.

Well the Newcastle vs Hull seems to be all Newcastle. Seem to be playing like the premiership team.

Now Hull will probably win with their only shot on goal

It is a great chance for either championship club to progress.

Disappointingly poor penalties and should have had the game wrapped up well before them. We probably would have been well beaten in the semis anyway. Big problem now is we play Friday evening after 120 mins of football tonight.

It certainly helps Forest, but i'm sure we will find a way to stuff it up. Though we might have new owners come Thursday so all the players will be playing for new contracts.

Great to see the 17 year old Ben Woodbarn score for Liverpool last night. A future Steven Gerrard or will he be forgotten this time next year?

Beating Owens record by 100 days. I'm sure Liverpool would be happy if he came out half as good as Owen was when at LIverpool.

Seems to be a good feel around LIverpool at the moment.

Tonight's games are really interesting. I assume that United will put out a full strength team, Jose will want at least 1 trophy this season. West Ham have nothing else to play for at present so will also be fielding a full strength team. Not sure how serious Arsenal will take the game against Saints though. Lots of other distractions to worry about for the gunners. Saints, well they also have a lot of games this season. But they are 2 wins from a final. Surely they will put out their best team?

If you make the Semis there is a every chance one of these teams will be playing Hull. And that pretty much means a finals berth.

So the question will be asked:

Why has it taken so long for Jose to play Henrikh Mkhitaryan?

He played last Thursday.

Saints are 2 up. Brendy will be dreaming of Wembley.
