Fellaini has been outstanding.

Hasn't been pretty to watch but this is Mourinho at his tactical best.

Well done to Utd, but were Ajax any better than Southampton? Neat and tidy but no threat at all.

Anyway, happy to see Utd win :clap

Can't believe anyone is making a big deal out of that. It's a song ffs. People will literally make a big deal about anything.

Great result for us anyway, had a better season than both Liverpool and City. Wonder when we will hear Pep get criticised after spending more than United.

In the end United had a great season. 2 trophies was a great return. 6th in the league and 3 more points than last year was not so great in the league, but that is all forgotten with success in Europe. As has been shown in the premier league before, playing on Thursdays has a big impact on teams league form. Uniteds league form is a major concern though. But it seems that they will go on another spending spree over the summer. in the last 5 years they have spent 500 mil and recouped about 180 mil :panic

Liverpool also had a great season, though with out any trophies im sure its hard for their fans to feel to upbeat. But in the summer transfer market they made 7 million whilst United had a net transfer loss of 100 million and Zlatan. in 15/16 they finished 6 points behind United in 9th place but this season they are 7 points ahead of United and in the top 4. A 16 point improvement in the league and making 7 milion is a great result for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp. Playing in Europe next year will stretch their resources though.

As for Pep and City, 3rd can not be considered a good return. Spent more money than any one else, and im not sure there has been any real improvement. Towards the end of the season City were looking much better, but was that because the pressure was off? Much like Arsenal in the last few years, nothing to play for and then they qualify for the top 4 easily? Pep seems to escape critism but he is meant to be the best manager in the world. With the resources he has had at his disposal more should have been said about Citys season. They still finished 9 points ahead of United in the league though.

stupid question

i've seen the comment made alot about the disadvantage about playing on a Thursday when it comes to league form but i dont see the difference between playing saturday-wednesday-saturday to playing sunday-thursday-sunday

Not sure you can say Man U had a great season, decent but not great.

They're going to have to qualify for the CL by the more conventional route next season I would suggest. Three seasons in a row outside the top four will not be acceptable to a club of their world stature.

Still can't see them winning the title for a while yet, but that's just my sense of karma pushing against them after 20 odd years of success. Knowing Mourinho he'll find a way of getting there in the next two years but I can't see it being pretty to watch.
