big headline on the BBC about 5 PL teams being knocked out but 3 of those were in all PL ties so a PL team was always going to lose

arsenal behind early to PNE

this would really add to the pressure on Wenger if they lose this

that really should have been a second for Preston, 2 v 1 on the keeper, open goal waiting and the pass was hit too hard

that'll be changing tonight unless they get their finger out

preston have been by far the better team and if they had gone in at half-time 2 or 3 in front it wouldn't have flattered them

arsenal dont have great options on the bench either

wellbeck to come off the bench, score the winner and wenger says its like having a new player so doesn't need to strengthen his squad in the transfer window

Nearly right.
Giroud scores the winner.

With the poor attendances at these FA cup matches they really should drop the ticket prices.

General sale tickets for Tottenham vs Aston villa are £25.

Plymouth play out a goalless draw with the Liverpool kids.
:sleep
Maybe the time has come to merge the FA cup with the league cup and play just one cup competition.

Who wants to pay £25 to watch a bunch of Tottenham second eleven players?

Not sure, plenty of teams n the lower leagues need the 2 cups to bring in some much needed revenue.

This is a big result for Plymouth. And it will net them a large windfall. Not to mention the joy that it brings to their fans. The fans who support a small club through more harder times than good times. Days like today are the reason a lot of these clubs still have fans.

These cups are not just for the big 6 teams to win, they also give supporters of other clubs the chance to play against bigger teams and to get a cup run going. Cut that down to one cup competition a season and there will be little left of the lower levels of English Football.

Though the way football is going in England, that will be the case soon anyway.

Something needs to change, the games this weekend have been dire.

There is absolutely no incentive for Premier League teams to take this tournament seriously, and it devalues the trophy massively.

The game has changed. Teams now want money, not silverware.

Trophies seem to be meaningless now to a lot of fans. Clubs are run as businesses.
