Ashley has pulled out of negotiations, and Newcastle have still not signed any players, with most transfer activity involving the possible sale of players.
I wonder if that has surprised anyone at all?

seems my thought that Newcastle would still not have signed anyone by the 25th of the month is out by a couple of days. They have negotiated a loan until the end of the season for a 21 year old utility player. Lets hope he brings his scoring boots with him.......
and leaves his twaddle account at home, of course

Newcastle being linked with every striker under the sun, but not many clubs will accept £6M, and not many players will accept 40 quid a week

given that Newcastle need some serious reinforcement, I find it interesting that, so far, all transfer activity at the club involves players leaving. A veritable flood going out on loan. Supposedly there are 2 coming in on loan, but no doubt the deals will fall apart at the eleventh hour

It seems Mike is gambling on Newcastle staying up and then will flog them in the summer. At present he is doing the minimum for this.
Its a huge gamble, and he will be richer if it comes of......

Benitez can walk away in the summer if he wants. Once he enters the last 12 months of his contract (during the off season) the £6million clause that ties him to the club drops off. If Newcastle do get relegated, Ashley will just figure that he has a good championship squad and he'll hang on to the club until they get promoted again... try and sell it then. If they do stay up, he'll probably just trouser the TV money before he tries to sell it again

Mahrez situation is a mess. Leicester being a bit stupid IMO. Can't see Mahrez wanting to play for them again.
Maybe United could hijack this one as well!
