They were sixth the previous season with 17 more points, but I think the straw that broke the camel's back was finishing on the same number of points as AFCB!

Possibly yes. But i still think making a final has to count for something.

In saying that its not worth questioning the wisdom of the Saints owners. They have done an amazig job since taking over and certainly seem to know what they are doing.

Huddersfield sign Australian Aaron Mooy who has obviously been on loan there for the season.

Good bit of buisness for City, got him for nothing a year ago, loan him out and then sell him for 10 million.

The Money round the premier league now is crazy and will create a huge gulf to the lower leagues. unless of course one believes in trickle down economics.

I think that Sheffield United will be big recipients of trickle down economics this Summer from what I have read.

Everton spending already over 50mil. Being active early in the transfer window.

Spending money to show Lukaku that they are serious, or are the already spending the Lukaku money.

in fairness to Everton, there are some players for whom £50mill would only buy you one of their legs

Christiano Ronaldo is quitting Real Madrid.

Could a move back to the PL be on the cards?

Huge transfer fee for a 32 year old though. Something to do with his tax avoidance.......

never ceases to amaze me that even guys who have more money than they will ever be able to spend can still be greedy assholes and try to avoid paying tax

i dont think anyone is going to ante up his release clause tho which is £875M

It seems unlike the other tax dodgers in Spain(Messi, Neymer) that Ronaldo does not want to pay back the money he owes.

Apparently there are quite a lot of ambiguous tax laws in Spain. Probably why so many players keep getting caught out.
