Didnt take long to show just how unambitious Man United were last week... this defence asks to go all out attack on it

An absolute shocker from Liverpool's defence.

Got to be soon. Questions have to be asked why Liverpool bought the OX, but have done nothing to improve the back 5.

The other question from this is how can Spurs hold onto Kane when they have a strick wage structure in place. Something will have to give.

Sadly they have gone the other way. They always seems to have the odd season where they end up battling relegation.

Michael Keane looks like a terrible signing, and they have no pace upfront at all

And no strikers!

Followed later in the day by Lovren.

When will some of these clubs learn that recruitment is so much more than just money. You can't go around spending £25m or £30m on CBs after just one good top flight season.

Even the likes of Williams and Fonte have proved to be shocking buys, and they've got much PL experience under their belts. They played in teams who kept the ball away from the opposition, with good players around them, and where they felt at home. Now they're being shown for what they are (I wanted shot of Fonte for about two years!). But at least they were relatively inexpensive purchases. For the money used to purchase Keane and Lovren, you should be expecting almost top dollar CBs. Not the absolute best of the best, but players who are not far off.

The only answer I have is that they flatly refuse to accept anyone other than Virgil. So rather than spend money on someone else, they'll take the short time and come back to us in January. And then again next summer if that isn't successful either.

Pretty bad move, of course. Not just because of the short term hit they suffer, but also because we can use that strategy of theirs to our advantage. Forget £70m or £80m, Liverpool. How about we go up to £100m. If he's the only man they want, we hold all the cards.

The occasional boo, but generally well received. Looked very rusty in his first start, vs Stoke three games ago, but then he has been injured since January. He was my MOTM yesterday, and my runner-up MOTM last weekend. Spent most of yesterday playing in midfield, after first dealing with WBA's long balls and then coming forward. None of this row Z, or knock it up to the half way line, stuff. Although in fairness, right now it doesn't take much to shine in this team. Even if you ignore the financial side, it doesn't take a genius to look around our side and see why he wants to leave.

He hasn't been given the captaincy back, and I can understand that. But if it was me, I'd be very tempted to give it back to him. We do lack in leaders, other than Virgil and Lemina. Talking of which, Lemina will be the next one to interest the big boys. Laughable that we signed him, when he would walk into the midfields of Liverpool, Arsenal and possibly even Chelsea. And unlike Virgil or Mane, it's not even like we signed Lemina with little or no big time experience under his belts. He played in the CL final for Juventus last year! There is no excuse why a Wenger or a Klopp didn't take a chance on him.
