They were a touch more adventurous than Newcastle, probably because they have stronger attacking players.

I hadn't put these two things together in my head

I'd forgotten that Zaha played for Palace

I never condone diving/simulation/cheating. Gayle tried it for us, the daft ponce... might have scored if he'd stayed on his feet

presumably the panel will sort Zaha out

I know that the likes of Rooney, Townsend, Firmino, Berahino, Balotelli have all had driving bans, but have any premier league players received diving bans?

Two very poor penalty decisions in the games today, not sure how on earth Mike Dean could think that was deliberate handball.

Petr Cech asked him after the game why he gave it, especially when the refs had had a pre season meeting with the clubs to agree that incidents where the player was so close he couldn't get out the way would not be classed as deliberate handball.

Mike Dean said nothing and stuck a yellow card in his face. Cech should have belted the arrogant tw@t.

Reading the decision of the panel suggests Zaha should get a ban

Very similar to Niasse, there was contact but not sufficient to cause the player to fall to the ground..

Mike Dean should get a ban for complete incompetence!

that would be true of quite a few refs. Has making them professional improved either the quality or consistency of decision making?

Some fair points in that article Budget. Got to be a tough job, and no matter what you can not keep everyone happy.

that does sound really cheap for Barkely but i dont think he has played much under Allardyce and probably not the type of player he likes

Probably a fair price for an overrated injury prone player with a questionable attitude.

He's shafted Everton big time here.

Was meant to go for £35m in summer, then had a last minute change of heart. Spends the first half of the season injured, Everton paying his wages and his treatment, then as soon as January comes around he jumps ship for £15m! Think him and his agent have made a pretty penny in signing fees here.

Well he got injured didnt he at the start of the season. Why would chelsea pay all that in August knowing he wouldnt be ready till the new year, when his contract was only 5 months before expiry?

Made sense.

Agree with that, but my understanding was he pulled the plug on the move himself in summer, when Celsea were happy to go ahead.
