Pretty sure it was Abramovich's decision to sell Matic. Conte has said many times how disappointed he was that Matic got sold.

Originally, but I have seen a few journos saying it was his choice, and now he's backtracking

Conte probably wont last the season at Chelsea.

Especially if they have any more results like the one last weekend.

Tough season ahead for us.

Shockingly bad by all accounts today.

I'm not surprised, Surman still in the team, still topping those meaningless Opta statistics.

That would take a special effort to be that bad. Mind we might have it in us. Apparently we couldn't scrape even one half decent chance in 90 minutes of Leicester trying to play on the counter.

Hughton needs to find a way to break a Prem defence....it's arguable if that's his style and whether or not he has the tools.

What's not debatable is Brighton will almost certainly be fighting for their premier league status. They look terrible so far.

Tough times for south coast fans this season it seems. Maybe the only saving grace is that this season a team might need less than 35 points to stay up.

Granit Xhaka, really why is he still playing for Arsenal. He gives the ball away so often, what does he bring to the team?

Soton will be happy to get off the mark at home at last although I understand they were fortunate to get the three points today with West Ham down to ten men for most of the game.

We made that a lot harder for ourselves than it should have been. From the time between going 2-0 up to level at 2-2, we treated the match like a training session. It really shouldn't have taken a side with ten men away from home to equaliser against you, to wake up up.

But three points, and fundamentally that is all that matters.

Badly need to sign a midfielder/forward to play behind Gabbi, who can both score and create. Our entire CM is not even average when it comes to creativity and scoring.

it's still too early. I think people are at risk of doing a City with United in the media. It's 2 easy games so far.

2 games; no goals

unsurprising

perhaps now Ashley will put his hand in his pocket and buy another £5m striker

Buy strikers with a 4 goals from 27 games record....... put 7 of them in the team... score a goal every game... makes sense to me

Of course that leaves no-one in midfield and only 3 defenders, but I'm sure that will be okay.

What is Ashleys plan though. The premeir league has way more money in it now, and he seems to be trying to balance the books with last years spending. With the new TV deal, and Newcastle money making transfers from previous seasons, you would think that the Toon have a fair bit to spend? Or am i missing something?

Rafa must be going crazy.
