Bamford to chealski, Lascellos and Darlow to Newcastle, Oliver Burke to Red Bull have been the big earners over the last 5 years. Just before this time there was also Morgan to Leicester and Perch to Newcastle. The last England internationals from the academy were Jenas and Dawson. Its been a consistent line of players, whilst the first team has been pretty poor.

Presently Osbourn, Worrel, Brereton and Cash look good to play at a higher level. And I'm sure Forest will be looking to sell at least one of them this summer to bring yet more money to wasted somewhere else. And there appears to be a couple more from the academy coming through next season.

I once watched Shearer talking about the early part of his career. He'd been spotted playing for Wallsend Boys Club and had gone for trials with a few teams. He signed a youth contract with Southampton because Newcastle would only take him if he went in goal.... which also sounds like typical Newcastle.

Prolific academy!! :lmao

A striker who has only scored in league two, and a keeper who never played above the mid table of the championship. And nothing else.

In terms of ranking academies, if that's the output going back the 70s when Huddersfield were last in the top flight with a few homegrown lads, I'd probably guess it ranks somewhere very near the bottom of the pyramid.

Premier league or fielding journeyman local born shite in league two??? :stupid

15 years ago Huddersfield were in League Two and they would not have gone back up the league pyramid if it wasn't for their Academy players. The likes of Tom Clarke, Nathan Clarke, David Mirfin, Jon Worthington et al might not have gone on to play Premier League football, but they played an instrumental role and became fans favourites in the process.

Ditching the Academy goes against the legacy achieved by those and to class the above players as "local born shite" is an insult. Football exists outside the Premier League and that is where the best fairytale stories are made, not surviving for 17th spot and classing 4th place the equivalent of winning a trophy.

Newcastle confirm a top half of the table finish with a 3-0 win over Chelsea. Gave them a right old spanking as well, by the sounds of it

Bournemouth finished as the top south coast club for the first time in their history, and with Wenger leaving Arsenal, Eddie Howe is currently the longest serving manager in the Premier League!

100 points for City. I know they have spent but 100 points, 106 goals, and 31 wins is a fabulous return. Plus they play pleasing on the eye Football.

Glad the Saints stayed up. Hopefully Huddersfield and Cardiff will go down next season.

Those names you mention all basically broke into the team the season you were relegated to the bottom tier for only the second time, and we're at best mid level league one starters. Historically you've spent equal time in championship and league one level. What are you banging on about legacies for? There is nothing of note to applaud here.

You signed Jordan Rhodes, he banged in 40 goals, you got promoted. You signed a load of other players, you got to the premier league. These nobodies have little to do with it.

You seem to argue you'd rather be poor than be successful?

Try to exclude myself from league football as best I can but Everton's treatment of Allardyce has been dogsh*t

Yep. Its about time the FA put a points deduction in place for managers being sacked before their contract is up.

They were in 14th, takes them to 8th, gets sacked

Crying all the way to the bank with his 6 million pound payoff.

13.5 million in total over the years including a million quid from the FA for breaking rules which led to his England contract termination.

Everton were 13th when he took over, had just thumped West Ham 4-0, so he didn't need to do alot except bore the fans rigid.

No sympathy from me.

Allardyce was brought in to stop Everton from going down, not that they ever really were. He was never a long term fix, so nobody should be really surprised to see him go.

Obviously if Eddie Howe gets the job, it's a disgrace Allardyce was sacked in this manner!

It's one of the few jobs I could see him leaving Bournemouth for, because he was an Everton supporter as a lad, it's a step up from Bournemouth, and he has no chance at a top six club.

A few comments he has made recently suggest he isn't over enamoured with the progression at our club, specifically relating to the new ground.

Everton does seem like the natural progression for Howe, or Dyche, though the Everton fans will not want Dyche's brand of Football.

me neither.... Managers like Allardyce love getting the sack. Money for getting the England push... money for getting the Palace push, now money for being sacked by Everton. That's a shed load of money for about 12 months work in the last 3 years

plus his various big salaries, of course

never feel sorry for a PL manager.... they wouldn't feel sorry for you
