Possibly one of the best football matches I've seen for a long time. Commitment, quality, goals and all minus the melodrama that often accompanies the mens game.

The FA's stance on Doncaster Belles is ludicrous and I am surprised that they aren't taking more heat for it.

It's a joke that a team is announced as relegated in the 1st game of the season, this might be a job for CAS.

The organisation of Womens Super League is a complete shambles, Lincoln City Ladies to be moved into Nottingham and named as Notts County Ladies.

It annoys me as it seems the FA is trying to make the male game and female game assimilate but is completely ignoring whatever history the female game has for itself.

Anyone following the Womens Euro 2013 Championships?

England scraping a draw against Russia, Toni Duggan with an injury time equaliser.

Caught the last 15 minutes and England's tactics of hoofing and shooting on sight are baffling. The womens game is not as intense as the male counterpart and as long as bodies can get forward, there is more scope for a shorter passing game.

Judging by the highlights, it seems the women have developed the same big tournament mentality as their male counterparts, which can only stand them in good stead going forward...................... :facepalm

Actually while on the subject of women's football........

the BBC should be doing what a good public service provider ought to be doing... not ignoring live football because they can't afford to compete with ITV and Sky, but taking the bull by the horns and showing live domestic women's football week in week out. The women are showing much greater skill and fitness levels than they ever did in the past. Greater exposure would only help in the development of womens football, I feel.

Anti-football doesn't work in the womens game, it's un-lady like for lasses to outmuscle each other and go in for hard tackles.

Womens football has come on leaps and bounds since I was watching it live in 2007, composure levels the biggest improvement and more so in defence. The BBC have certainly missed a trick in getting exclusive rights for live Womens Super League matches, BT Sport have the rights but not sure how long for.

It is telling that while British sportsmen and women continue to do well this summer in cricket, tennis, rugby, cycling, athletics, etc, British footballers of both genders continue to wallow in mediocrity....that tells me that the British psyche needs to become less obsessed with football, and to focus a little bit more on other sports, where Britons are doing so much better.

Well said Mike, what gets my goat is the womens football team demand publicity and better rights but offer little in return. Bemoaning the fact they earn so little compared to the top flights of mens football.

England womens cricket team achieved their World Cup and World T20 success with basic resources and on the back of little support or publicity. When their success was recognised and the authorities decided to invest, they were very grateful and appreciative. Best bit was when the women's World T20 daily fee was miniscule compared to the male counterparts, they responded that it was sufficient for their needs.
