well done girls... saved your managers @rse.

England were under the pump for much of that game, but they defended womanfully, and Jodie Taylor snaffled up England's one real chance

france just didn't have a goal in them tonight. Their only real threat came from set pieces... in open play England looked like they could keep them out all day

Jill Scott will miss the semi after picking up her second yellow, and the keeper had to go off with an injury so she might miss out as well, but England will miss Scott much more than Bardsley, imo

Jill Scott talking up England's chances as if playing against the host nation with a 100% win record in a Semi-Final is just a formality.

Too many egos in that football team, they should learn from their cricket counterparts and approach key matches by not taking the opposition for granted.

I always think that 'broken leg' is so much more tabloid than 'fractured fibula'

I confess to never understanding why Bardsley has so many caps. Her keeping is generally poor, her awareness and decision making are awful. She regularly lumps goal kicks straight into touch, which is just plain shoddy. She doesn't seem to communicate with her defenders very well either. There were 3 or 4 instances in the France game where defenders were conceding corners because they didn't know that there was no pressure on them, or that the keeper was there to make the catch. Surely there is a better keeper than her out there that England could be selecting as first choice?

I think she was referring to the QF against hosts Canada recently which they won comfortably in front of a baying Canadian crowd (was it the shebelieve cup?). If it was the interview I saw, I think her point was that they won't be intimidated by a large partisan crowd.. which is fair enough. Netherlands are having an excellent tournament so England will have to defend as well in this match as they have in every other.

Far be it from me to predict what side will be picked for the SF, but Nobbs looked good in the middle when she was moved there to help stem the French tide. Equally Fran Kirby looked decent replacing Nobbs out on the right, so I wouldn't be surprised to see Duggan replace JIll Scott.

The Dutch lead, 1-0, and from what i have seen, they are more than worthy of that.

There seems to be a huge gulf in technical ability between the 2 teams at present.

Though i must say the England support is very impressive. The FA could do worse than pay for the flights for them to follow the mens team around.

England unlucky there.

I don't agree from what I have seen. The Dutch do deserve their lead though.

The Dutch seem to want to pass the ball, England did not seem so keen before the goal.

England also seem very adept at playing for free kicks.

Actually Englands tactics seem to kick long from defense, and then play for a free kick.

its kinda working. Though they still want to shoot from distance.
