Playing Wonderwall at the end of the game, Noel will be pleased!

Big upset, but it doesn't feel the same as the big shocks in the seventies and the eighties when the cup meant something.

Still a dull competition in my book.

I take the point but the Man City manager, players and fans seemed pretty upset if it doesn't mean anything.

At least this means they can't top 1999 this season

Man C fans may be upset but that's some petty United/City rivalry garbage, which is all a bit sad.

why... what happened in '99?

I remember it being a pretty unremarkable year

Man City were 2-0 down going into injury-time of the play-off, before staging the greatest last gasp comeback of that season or any other. With the possible exception of their injury-time winner to seal the title in 2012.

Ha, that does get overlooked, what with the treble and all that.

I don't remember a treble. It certainly wasn't achieved by Newcastle so it can't have been very significant

there was an FA cup final, of course, but I can't say that I recall who won.

Tottenham and Manchester United advance to the semis.

VAR not needed. It's here to stay anyway. It will be at the World cup this summer. It's also regularly used in European leagues such as Germany and Portugal.

Could not believe the Man Utd v Brighton FA Cup game kicked off at 7.45pm on a Saturday. So much for the travelling support who probably would not have get home until 4-5am in the morning, if they weren't staying in Manchester overnight.

An all premier league semis. Wigan lost to Southampton.

I'm impressed by the state of the Leicester pitch. It looks immaculate. A far cry from the end of winter pitches of 30, 40 years ago

The wonders of modern underpitch heating systems, compulsory in the premier league.

Not sure what all the diamond shaped diagonal cuts were for though!

only the standard horizontal lines allowed in the PL, apparently, so perhaps the groundskeeper got all arty when the opportunity presented itself?

I liked it

Manchester United beat Tottenham 2-1.
:clap
Another year when Tottenham finish without a trophy.
