I'll bite

Winner - Brazil
Runner Up - Belgium
SF 1 - France
SF 2 - Germany
Top Scorer - Jesus
England - Scrape through the group stages by the skin of their teeth (draw with at least one of Tunisia or Panama, loss to Belgium, through with 4 points on goal difference), then out in the round of 16. On bloody penalties. Again.
Dark Horse - Colombia
Biggest Let Down - Spain

I would normally go with what BFL said for England, but I'm feeling bullish this year so I think QF.... out on pens though, obviously.

I think France might prove to be this years star flop

I have no idea who will win the thing, though..... it seems these days that teams with only one player, like Portugal or Argentina, can punch well above their weight..... so maybe England can do a bit better?

okay... fair enough.... I'll stop talking rubbish now

Of course, if Kane gets 'taken out' in either of the first two games, then England are stuffed and BFL's Law applies

England have a decent chance of making the quarters being paired up with group H for round 2 but whether they'll take that chance is another matter.

Going in with little expectation from media and fans this time might take a bit of pressure off aswell.

I'm still not hopeful!

Think the QF will be Brazil or Germany so we'll be done then even if we do make it that far.

not sure any sane person could have predicted this world cup

which is good for the world cup, of course

Ignoring England making it to the semi's, just for a moment, I think this has been the best world cup in a very long time.... shocks, twists, turns, goals and VAR...... pretty well behaved by and large (apart from those disgraceful south of trumpland players), no major controversies, no crowd or police troubles

all in all...... excellent!
