Still finding it hard to believe that Mitrovic went for that much. Although there are hints of quality in isolated spurts.

not long for Rafa to spend the £22M he got for Mitrovic before the fat lad picks his pocket

PL teams voted to end the window before the first game last year. Which is strange, ebcause any European teams can still buy up till 1st September. If Real Madrid decide they want to smash a few huge bids in for a star player as they get desperate, it could leave teams without a replacement.

that'll suit the fat boy.... he'll be able to sell off as many players as he likes in the 3 weeks left and Rafa won't be able to replace them

win win situation for the fat Strauss invective

Newcastle have submitted a £5M bid for a new striker... Issac Kiese-Thelin.

exactly the sort of striker that the fat boy likes..... cheap!

Blimey.... char ladies go for more than that, these days

Rafa is trying to set up a £7.1M deal for Myziane Maolida from Lyon.... now that could be a very exciting signing, but he's a forward, so the fat *modded* won't want to pay more than £5M and because he's only 19 he'll want to pay it over 5 years based on performances, so it'll fall through.

Given that Benitez will not talk about a new contract until after the transfer window has closed, I fear that this will be his last season.... and who could blame him?

Newcastle sign a defender... Fernandez, for more or less the money left in the kitty from the sale of Mitrovic, so the fat Strauss invective has just pocketed the TV money (I forget how much that is, these days). I have no doubt that this will prove to be Rafa's last season in charge, just as I have no doubt that nobody else will buy the club (if, indeed, it was ever up for sale).

They did manage to hang on to Lascelles, though, but I imagine that he's only hanging around to see where Benitez goes next year, so that he can follow him there

The players are on a media strike over a bonus pay dispute with the rotund Strauss invective... refusing to do post match interviews and not turning up for the 'walk on' photo shoot that the TV bods use for the team sheet stuff

Not a happy camp. Thank goodness they have a nice easy start to the new campaign, and only have to stroll past the perennial underachieving mugs like Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham and Man City in the first 5 weeks, or the season could quickly spiral all the way down the plug hole

when does the 2019/20 championship season start?

Rafa refuses to rule out the rumour that Balotelli will be joining in the window

I imagine the fat lad has offered to put him up in a massive luxury apartment in the middle of the Metrocentre (once he closes and empties House of Fraser, of course) with all the fireworks and ammunition that he can eat

Bournemouth have been ripped off and good and proper there! £19m for Solanke!! Should have just kept Defoe!

It is an odd one but with Defoe on his way and interest in Wilson from Chelsea, a striker is needed, although he is currently injured. Howe has a history of taking young British players that he can develop, Fraser, Brooks, Wilson, Lewis Cook, Ibe etc...

With the exception of Ibe all the above have been successful although Ibe could still come good.

As for Defoe he ain't anywhere near Premier League quality these days which is demonstrated by his handful of goals in recent seasons. I hope he does the business up at Rangers but the Scottish Premiership is English Division One standard and more his current level.

Clyne is an excellent signing, confirmed by the disappointment shown by Liverpool fans on social media.

If Solanke does not work out then Bournmouth will have given Liverpool the best part of 35 million for young English talent that has not worked out.

Clyne does seem like a smart signing. Strange that Liverpool are getting rid of him.

only on loan, I think. I presume it's a half season loan

Yes, till the end of the season. Warnock has got the hump because apparently he had some sort of gentleman's agreement to go to Cardiff. Still Warnock can't really be called a gentleman so that can't apply!

The Solanki signing probably had some bearing on Clyne's loan move to us.

Yep we've paid a bit to Liverpool for two young English players and Ibe has not worked out so far. But young England internationals don't come cheap these days, and not every young talent matures into a top class player.

At least we have a board that will provide the money for transfers, some work out some don't. We shall have to see with Solanki, probably the biggest surprise for me is that he's currently injured!

Anything that upsets Warnock is fine by me. Odious man
