Rafa has got Newcastle to be organised and disciplined, but you have a feeling without a Champions League winning manager at the helm, the team doesnt strike you as one that could survive in the top tier of English football. He's doing miracles at Newcastle, and if it werent for a passionate fan base getting behind him and connecting with him on a personal level, he would have walked ages ago.
Agree with that completely. I think it will be the single biggest factor in him deciding whether or not to sign a contract extension. As a manager it must be wonderful to know that no matter what happens, however badly the season goes or the team plays, the fans will always blame the owner. Some managers have to put up with all kinds of nonsense from supporters, but Benitez will not have to. He may even remember his time at Chelsea and appreciate the rapport he has with the Newcastle faithful
He may end up going, but I think he is actively looking for a reason to stay
