What a dull run in, not a twist in sight. Just as boring as winning it with 5 games to go.

The ironic thing about it all is that City want to win the Champions League and Liverpool want to win the Premier League. They'd swap places like a shot right now.

And what a finish to the season for United.

It was an epic season for the top 2, it seems like they are light years ahead of the rest.

Congrats to City, shame for Liverpool, but they should have wrapped it up a while ago, and will probably win the champions league

It was that run of draws after the Man C loss away that killed them. 97 points for runners up spot is ridiculous but one defeat in the whole season is also crazy.

Was rooting for Liverpool tbh, prefer Klopp to Pep and I find City pretty dull to watch, a bunch of expensive robots performing to a system. Gets very samey after a couple of seasons, and the tippy tappy Barcelona way has had its day.

Man City's defence probably won them the title at the end of the day.

Must have been the only time that all of Manchester was praying for a City title win.

Liverpool have done well, but anyone switching on to football for the first time in a long time would get the impression from whats being written everywhere, that this was some David v Goliath battle where the little guy almost pulled off a miracle. Klopp has spent £450,000,000 million in three years at Liverpool, and has the most expensive player in history in 2 of the 4 position groups on the pitch.

Lets not dress this up, this is failure, regardless of how many points they scored. They couldnt beat City at home, and lost away. Theres were they blew the title. And christ, they have had some ridiculous luck from referees.

Klopp has had the resources that Pep has had...... he should be judged on that level.

Given that one of Liverpool or Spurs is going to win the Champs Lge, does that mean that Arsenal will sneak into it as a 5th English club?

Liverpool have also sold a lot of talent. in those 3 years they have sold about 280 million.

Their net spend over the last 3 years has been under 100 million.

They have at least tried to balance the books.

Man City over the same 3 years have spent 510 million and only clawed back 148 million.

So roughly over the same period, City have had a net spend of over 120 million every year whilst Liverpool have had about 35 million.

Financially not even in the same ball park, though it is no David vs Goliath.

No but Arsenal can still get in if they win the Europa League as winners of this are guaranteed a spot in the CL.

If City buy 11 players for 50 million each, none of them are sold for a dime, they have a squad that costs 550 million.

If Liverpool have 11 players that cost 50 million, bought from 11 players sold for 50 million, they have a squad that costs 550 million still.

The fact one is profit, the other is bare investment matters little. The resources on the pitch were forged for the same cash, and the job assembling the squad should therefore be assessed in the same way.

Klopp didnt buy those players who made the profit, he just spent the money.

Well if one does not want to compare net spend then you can just look at how much each club spent in the last 3 years from the above table.

Man City 520 million

Liverpool 380 million.
