and again

pity there's yet another international break, just as they start to get on a roll

next 4 matches involve Burnley, WHU, Everton and Wolves, so it feels like there are points to be had.

Ashley will be putting his wallet back in his pocket soon.... "nah! they'll be fine... I'll buy Mothercare instead"

one of the advantages of playing all the big beasts so early in the season is that once they've played Spurs on the 2nd Feb, Newcastle have a 13 match run in that includes Arsenal and Liverpool plus 11 matches where they could reasonably expect to pick up points against bottom half rivals

Charlie Austin calling for VAR after his goal against Watford was wrongly ruled offside.

I note that he didn't call for VAR so they could review the penalty appeal for Watford that was (apparently) also incorrectly ruled out

and another

no chance of any players in the Jan window now. He'll be hoping for another 3 wins before Jan and then he'll start thinking about selling players rather than buying them

my guess is that he'll sell Lascelles for £20M in order to give Rafa £10m for another 2 or 3 players... probably strikers..... and then he'll also complete a permanent move for Gayle, which he'll just trouser

although he now says he is hopeful of selling the club in the transfer window instead, but we've been there before... this will turn out to be a smokescreen to justify not buying any players

Nice work Bournemouth in beating the Dogbotherers!

Just need Fulham, Burnley or Southampton to win and condem those Dogpests in the relegation zone

Jose Mourinho has been sacked by Manchester United with immediate effect, the Premier League club has announced.

The stunning decision comes just two days after United suffered an embarrassing 3-1 defeat by rivals Liverpool, which saw them concede a worst-ever 36 shots and slip 19 points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City.

Zidane most likely to take over.

If I were them I would try and lure Hiddink - at least short term.

Ryan Giggs a dark horse.
