English cup competitions 2018/19

The beautiful game!

Fulham conceding the most goals in the Premier League (47 in 19 games). Surely a FA Cup game against Oldham Athletic presents an opportunity for the first choice back line to develop a better understanding. If anything playing lower league opposition in cup matches is better than being on the training ground.

I would think getting injuries would be the main worry.

Massive season for him. I hope he does win one this season, but if not, the daggers will be out.

Often crash out of domestic cup competitions in the early stages, never got beyond Round 4 of the FA Cup.

Maybe if Klopp took cup competitions seriously, Liverpool would fare better when it comes to the crunch matches, i.e. recent Europa and Champions League Final appearances. Winning breeds winning whether it's the Champions League or Merseyside Senior Cup, can't emulate pressure cooker knockout football on the training ground.

A big night for Burton Albion in the League Cup Semi-Final, a 1st leg visit to the Ethiad Stadium.

As of yesterday, you could get odds on Burton Albion winning as much as 75/1. A massive ask, but Nigel Clough has cup run history with Burton and more recently with Sheffield United having reached the League Cup and FA Cup Semi-Finals.

Even if Burton Albion come back to with a 1 goal deficit, they are no means out of it. A compact, packed out Pirelli Stadium for the 2nd leg presents a unique challlenge in itself for Manchester City.

Feel sorry for the Burton fans who got stuck on the M6 and missed the game, apparently took 28 coaches and only one made it.

Tottenham don't win trophies either.

They go out in the semis to Chelsea.

Have Tottenham won a trophy this century?

the utter stupidity of football fans shown in full. With the Arsenal fans booing his every touch, it was completely obvious that Sanchez would score for the opposition

reminds me of the Newcastle fans in the home Everton game last season, who booed every touch from Wayne Rooney (who scored the only goal of the game), booed every touch from Pickford (who was faultless in everything he did and made some great saves as well) and chanted anti-Allardyce stuff all through the game (doubtless giving him extreme pleasure when he walked away with 3 points in his pocket). It just gives the targets of their booing every last bit of the incentive needed to play out of their skin

You'd have thought the penny would have dropped by now, but... hey.... they're footy fans not rocket scientists, I suppose

Newcastle are out of the FA cup, which will come as a great relief to all the clubs who are hoping to win the thing

Tottenham are not going to win the FA cup this year either. Crystal palace beat them 2-0.
