Newcastle concede their first PL goal since 6th November and their first goal in the first half since August

Lloris out for 6 weeks, so that ought to improve Spurs chances. I expect them to knock Newcastle out of a champs league spot soon and this will definitely help them

Yet another draw for Newcastle. I think that's 6 in the last 7 matches and this after Leicester did them a big favour by thumping Spurs

first time Newcastle have conceded in the first half of a match since about August

many chances spurned once more and yet despite dominating possession they were a goal line clearance away from defeat

It's also the second consecutive match where Newcastle have conceded from a corner and a flick and an unmarked stab at the back post, which is disappointing for a side that have hardly conceded any goals all season

I am, of course, being overly critical. I didn't really expect them to finish in the top 4, but it's pretty obvious what is holding them back

and yet I'm so pleased with the attacking style of play that has been completely absent for about 15 years. Newcastle dominate possession in almost every match they play now. The days of parking the bus and hoping to hit on the break are long gone.... and good riddance

so I'm still happy, even though I am a little disappointed

VAR officials have been hauled into a meeting, been put up against a wall and had their horoscopes read, after an appalling number of VAR errors over the weekend.

John Brooks, who was responsible for ruling that a perfectly good Brighton goal was offside, after drawing the lines on the wrong defender :facepalm , has been replaced for tonight's merseyside derby.

If Arsenal don't go on to win, they would only be the second team in the premier league history to have as many points as they did at the halfway mark, or as big a margin over 2nd place, and go on not to win.

it's the weight of expectation and the unfamiliarity with the situation, I think. It's the reason why I think Man Utd will beat Newcastle at Wembley.

I think its more the fact that Arsenal have steadily built up a very good starting XI over the last couple of years, but they don't have the depth in the squad yet.

City get an injury to any player, a 50 million replacement of world class quality comes into the side. Arsenal get an injury, they are having to put in D list quality.

Case in point.... Jesus was injured, Arsenal had to play Eddie Nketiah who has never scored more than 5 goals in a season. If Haaland the other way is injured, City throw in Argentina's World Cup winning starting forward Julian Alvarez.

If any of Arsenals CMs get injured, they really suffer. Partey was out last night, and it really told.... at one stage this year, Arteta had to throw a 15 year old kid into a game in CM because they literally have no depth there.

Big flag tribute for Sir Bobby planned for today to mark what would have been his 90th birthday. It's probably a bit soon to have anything in place for Christian Atsu, but then Wor Flags are a remarkable bunch, so who knows... maybe

there is to be a minutes silence for him at kick off, seemingly
