It would be hypocritical if Dundee gained promotion to the SPL as they recently went into administration and received a 25pt deduction.

i'm biased with dunfermline being my home town team but surely given rangers demise then they should be counted as the "relegated" team from the SPL and dunfermline keep their top flight status

if they had went bust before the season ended then they would have been counted as finishing bottom of the league, below dunfermline

decisions need to be made soon as the season starts in around 4 weeks time and all of this will be affecting all teams involved and the last thing they can afford is legal action tbh or the whole thing will descend into farce

decision day today for rangers

its a bit ironic that from what i have read and talking to one of my best mates who is a die-hard rangers fan and a season ticket holder at ibrox, that the consensus from rangers fans, and even ally mccoist, is that they would prefer to see rangers start again in division 3 and earn their way back into the top flight but its the SFA and administrators that are pushing for them to go into division 1 to avoid the financial impact of having no rangers in the SPL for 2 extra years

Not a surprise really, rules are rules and the talk from Stewart Regan to say "Scottish football will die a slow and lingering death" if Rangers start in Division 3 is laughable.

as i said above rangers themselves; owners, management and fans, have always said after they were kicked out of the SPL that their preferred outcome was to start in division 3

haven't read the details of the decision yet but will be interesting to see what happens re the transfer embargo

they have lost alot of players who refused to transfer to the newco but might not be allowed to replace anyone so could end up with a very "thin" squad

The one thing which has really surprised me is the attitude displayed by most of the Rangers supporters and the club themselves. They seem to have accepted they've done wrong and accepted they're punishment without trying to blame everyone else around them, they also appear willing to put this saga behind them and get on with it. You still get the small minority of fans that seem to think the entire footballing world is behind them but overall it's been a very positive and refreshing approach from Glasgow Rangers and their new owners.

Unlike all of the Pompey fans who live/work near me, who to a man continue to think that the Football League are a disgrace and that the footballing world is against them.

As expected, Dundee have been invited to take Rangers place in the SPL and no surprise that Dunfermline are taking legal advice on the matter.
