not sure how anyone can say he has done a good job tbh

he has got promotion from the bottom 2 divisions with a club running a premier league budget

I think he was the right man to help hold the club together after what it went through but his record as manager isn't that great

Hes a Rangers legend. So he was good to have around when it all went wrong. But he has had a big budget, signed players well past their best. Plays a very negative type of football and does not encourage youth.

Obviously what has gone on at boardroom level has been nothing short of a train wreck and to work in the environment would have been tough. But his wages has more than made up for that, as well as all those free shares he got.

Why does he want to leave though?

Having brought the club back up to the second tier with a possible chance of getting back to the top level next season, why pick this time to go?

He was on a rolling contract. By working his notice it now means that if rangers are to sack him they will have to pay out his contract. Before he handed his notice in if Rangers sacked him he would recieve nothing.

Also it now means he now gets his original wage for the final year. £750000

A case of jumping before he was pushed then. I guess he felt the owners wouldn't keep him if Rangers were promoted.

Not surprisingly they are still a way off Premier league standard and will have to see if they can get promotion via the play offs by the looks of it. The only thing in their favour is that due to Rangers demotion the standard at Celtic has dropped as well.

I can't see Rangers being a match for Celtic for a while yet, they are a poor second to Hearts in the Championship.

could the situation at rangers become any more of a farce ?

seeing a once great club being treated as an academy by Ashley and co is a nonsense

I think Rangers supporters should do what FC united did when the Glaciers took over Man United.

With over 10000 people not renewing their season tickets this year, i'm sure they would have got a lot of support. Might have been tough to get admitted into the leagues, but with a big supporter base they could be very successful. And after the liquidation of the original rangers they would not be much younger than the new team.

Vuckic, Ferguson and Bigirimana are good players who would not look out of place in the Football League Championship, let alone Scottish Football.

Parent clubs dictating playing terms of loanee players is not uncommon
