So, I take it Lambert will be talking to Villa, now he has reported to have walked out on Norwich?

Yes. Norwich told Lambert they would always allow him to talk to bigger clubs but Norwich don't consider Villa a bigger club.

I forgot about Norwich's European Cup win.

I think they are letting him talk to Villa now though.

Norwich get compo if he leaves to join Villa while still with Norwich, but if he resigned before talking to them they would get zip.

Lambert will have a mountain of a job to do at Villa. They lack a lot of quality in most areas and he'll need to sign astutely as well as rebuild confidence in the team.

I'm no Chelski or RDM fan, but by gum this sacking is nearly as nasty as Claudio Ranieri's. I thought the way Ancelotti went was harsh but this takes the biscuit.

Oh dear, Six months after lifting the one prize Roman craved and he gets the bullet. Still, it will be the highest ever payout he gets.

de matteo will come out of this pretty good tbh

hes gonna get a good wad of cash as a payoff and getting sacked by abramovich in this way isn't gonna be held against him by other clubs , with a champions league win on his CV especially after the way he seemed to smooth all the feathers villas boas had ruffled last season then i reckon he will be first name on the shortlist for the next biggish job that becomes available
