Ryan brewster is at Liverpool. Hopefully he gets a chance to move into the first team. He pulls one back 2-1.

Gibbs White makes it 2-2!

Sesegnon created both goals with excellent crosses.

Foden and Guehi make it 4-2!

Hudson Odoi has been excellent! Foden makes it 5-2.

looks as though Southgate has decided that England will play with 3 centre backs in the WC next year, with attack minded wing backs. He also seems to be suggesting that lumping the ball up the field will not be tolerated, when explaining the omission of Carlton Palmer Chris Smalling. Lets hope it works for him. It feels like progress, if he can find any England qualified players who can actually do that. From what I've seen of the current crop of defenders and defensive midfielders all they are able to do is gradually pass the ball backwards until eventually it gets played to the keeper so he can lump it up field. At times recently England have managed to gradually work the ball from the middle of the opposition half back to their own keeper.... and that was against poor teams.

The tackle in the first half which should have seen a red card was another poor decision. He'll be refereeing Malta v San Marino next up!

Didn't watch the game. What tackle was that Budget.

The NI player aslo got a yellow card for that handball, so now misses the next game. Yellow card can not be changed either, so its a double whammy for the N Irish and the player.

NI player was charging up the wing in full flight angling in at goal and he was totally wiped out by one of the most reckless tackles you will see.

It was early in the game, and as everyone knows you need to kill someone to get a red card in the first fifteen minutes of any football match.

I haven't seen it either, but it's hard for as an Englishman to worry about injustice in football for others.... England have suffered it all over the years

Even if it hits the palm of his hand, there isnt anything he can do, its not deliberate. Then of course, the issue that it hit his back.....

Disgusting decision

This is where the injustice of not being able to overturn a yellow card comes into it as well. THe next game is arguable the biggest game in NI history. A player is not able to play it due to a ball being hit into his back. The video evidence is there, let the player play

I confess to enjoying that first half. Possibly the best I've seen England play in a while. Okay, it's a bit naive at times and a bit frenetic at others, but these young lads are trying to move the ball forward at every opportunity, some of them look very comfortable on the ball. I have no idea how good this German side is, but I do recognise some of the names.

I can only hope that the second half is as good and GS doesn't feel the need to chop and change things too much
