Gerrard won't go, but i wouldn't be surprised if Lampard does. He's 33, has the chance to become the world's highest paid footballer, and he'll be living in a country where the lovelies are... lovely!

I don't think his missus-to-be would be happy.

I would think that the £13 million contract would help aleviate any anxieties in relation to Lampard playing away. Having a footballer husband who earns squillions tends to have that effect!

She's famous in her own right though and I can't see her leaving her mega-bucks ITV contract to go to Russia.

Her TV career is on the slide. Getting up at some ungodly hour to present "Daybreak," a show with lousy ratings, or sleep-ins in Russia for 30 weeks of the year, spending squillions in Europe's new shopping mecca - a no brainer if ever there was one!

Avram Grant linked to the managers job;

Maybe the idea of signing up Copello after the Euro's has fallen by the wayside? :dunno

It seems that Frank is unhappy at Chelsky.

Perhaps he would find happiness in southern Russia!

El Hadji Diouf now appears to be on his way to Russia, for " a king's randsom," according to Rover's chairman John Ryan.

Carlos Tevez will be next! ;)

More talk about the ambitions of Anzhi Makhachkala;

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2043545/Roberto-Carlos-Anzhi-Makhachkala-want-Fabio-Capello-Frank-Lampard-Steven-Gerrard.html

It seems that player-manager Roberto Carlos has confirmed that the Russian club are in the market for a big name manager. The short list has Copello at the top, with Hiddink, Scolari and Luxemburgo all mentioned. Also mentioned in the article is Robert Pires, who is probably more likely to bolster the player ranks than gerrard or lampard, although I do think that Lampard is an outside chance as well.

Guus Hiddink was being interviewed on Russia Today earlier. It seems that the Dutchman would be interested in managing this club. I'm sure the financial renumeration that came along with it would make Hiddink very happy... and very rich! If he doesn't end up here, he'll end up back at Chelsky, when they turf out AVB.

I can't think of any other reason than money why someone would go there.

To take the team to the level of Barca and United obviously Aidan - such a cynic!

Beckham to Anzhi? A title in four countries may be an aim?
