Brighton enclave in Brussels, circa 2018!!

Percy couldnt get a work permit for the UK, but christ hes smashing Belgium apart!!! Great little South African centre forward, hopefully he gets a permit, and comes to England next.... Brighton first team wanted him, but the whole environment for foreign imports is difficult at the moment.

Anyone watching BT Sport.

They were filming the helicopter taking off from the middle of the Leicester pitch presumably with the owners in, the pundits were joking about 'how some people live...'

Come off an advert break 5 minutes later, and news that the helicopter has crashed into the car park outside the ground, no news of casualties yet.

Programme has been cancelled as having to evacuate ground due to a fire outside. They'd already cancelled an earlier programme due to Glenn Hoddle's illness.

Which also was, for sometime, a Brighton home home ground.... although we couldnt muster up much of a crowd there in those late 90s years. Pain in the arse journey that was, especially in mid week matches..........

USG is a lovely place to watch a game, tbf. Got Park Duden behind the ground, nice traditonal housing area around the ground, and a newly renovated stadium .... plus a small bunch of hardcore locals.

a real shocker, that. I knew nothing about it until this morning. Reuters are reporting that there were 5 people on board

Hoddle had a heart attack, seemingly, and I believe a Brighton fan dropped down dead during their game, as well

all in all, a difficult day for football

Semi-Professional side Team Wellington caused an almighty scare in the FIFA Club World Cup, leading 3-0 against tournament hosts and UAE side Al-Ain before replying with 3 goals in normal time and winning 3-2 on penalties.

A superb effort from Team Wellington, who play in the ISPS Handa New Zealand Premier League. The standard on a par with Conference football. but with more emphasis on technique and playing on the deck.

Never really understand why players scramble to join Real Madrid; last few seasons when other teams won the league, the fans turned on Ronaldo as the one to blame, despite him scoring a billion goals for them and winning them 5 odd champions leagues. This year its Gareth Bale, who is now being booed in matches at home.

Meanwhile, his teams mates are selling him down the street. Its been all over the news in Belgium that Thibault Courtois spoke out about him, saying he was only interested in playing golf, and that he wasnt a team player; the example he used was that the whole squad went out on a night out when they had training the next morning, but Gareth snubbed it, preferring to be fresh after an early night for work.

Definitely an example of his wanton unprofessionalism and commitment to the club. How dare he not get drunk till 2am in the morning before training.

Its almost like there might be another reason why they have been terrible this year, but I cant put my finger on it.

I do struggle with the sense of entitlement the Real fans seem to have. With some lucky referee decisions in the last few years, and now VAR seeming to favor them, they probably do think they should be afforded some special treatment.

I do hope Hazard does not go there next year.

Read to discover Colwyn Bay FC, currently of the Evostik Division 1 West are applying to join the Welsh League pyramid by the end of this month. One of the "famous eight" Welsh clubs who opted to remain in the English league structure when the League of Wales was formed in 1992, but were forced to play home matches in Ellesmere Port and Northwich by the Welsh FA until the High Court intervened.
