Last time it happened to the u20s team they ran into a Germany side in about 2008/09 final of the Euros...a side that contained about 7 future adult world cup winners (ozil, neuer, hummels, khediera, schurrle to name a few) ....

They were annihilated 4 or 5 nil

so a tacit admission that football is robbing the paying spectators blind may lead to rule changes that will......... rob them blind!

does anyone think that a reduction in the length of the match by a third will lead to a reduction in ticket prices by a third?

Awful proposals, having a stop clock for minor things ruins the fluidity of the game. What's not to say a player will deliberately feign injury under the coaches orders to pause time and ring in tactical changes?

Crazy idea. It's almost as if Sepp Blatter was still in charge.
